In our quest to create a new Lagos that works for all, we are also committed to ensure the safety of lives and property of all Lagosians – Governor Ambode. The governor made this known in his keynote address at the Official Launch of the Rebranding of Lagos State Safety Commission.
The governor further said, “Many people have lost their lives through incidences that could have been prevented had proper measures and precautions been taken. According to him, the rebranding also comes with the establishment of a Safety Training Institute which will be responsible for making safety a lifestyle in the state through continuous capacity building training for safety stakeholders in both the public and private sectors.
Furthermore, Ambode promised to sign the Lagos State Government Safety Policy statement as part of efforts to properly position the rebranded commission to achieve its objectives.
“This policy is aimed at promoting and maintaining positive health and safety culture in our quest to develop sustainable, smart and globally connected knowledge based communities in a manner that is respectful of local laws, cultures, application regulations and international best practices,” the governor said.
